french-revolution-263x300.jpgThe French Was known as one of the most advanced countries during the late 1700’s, because they had a very large population, strong trade between countries, and a parliament. All wasn’t as great as it sounded though, there was actually a lot poverty, homeless, and unemployed citizens.

They divided the people of France into three estates. The first estate, or The Clergy, was made up of the church people such as priests, nuns, monks, and bishops. The second, or The Nobility, was made up of the government, the armies, and the courts. The third estate was a vast majority of Frances population such as middle class and even the poor.

The Educated citizens of the third estate began getting upset that the first and second estate didn’t have to pay for anything so they called for the privileged classes to also pay their share of everything.
